This house rests mid-way up a hillside that does not permit vehicle access. Due to the lack of access and the poor quality of the ground at the hill surface it was necessary to design a cable car system to port all materials to site.

Accommodating the house required a number of tall retaining walls which had to be excavated by hand and where usual temporary works such as soil nails were not practical due to the limited access.

The house itself is 4 storeys stepping back up the hill, with a large number of cantilevering floor elements and one storey entirely glass on three sides.
